WATAD Verify: prove a phone number in Telegram, not by SMS
SMS codes are slow, they cost money on every message, and sometimes they never arrive. WATAD Verify proves a phone number another way: through Telegram, which already knows the number of every account.
How it works
- Your site starts a check with the number the user entered.
- The user opens our bot, @watad_verify_bot, presses Start and then “Share my number”.
- Telegram sends the number itself. If it matches, the check is verified, and your page carries on by itself.
Why it is safer than a code
There is no code to steal or to trick someone into reading out. Only a person’s own number counts: a contact shared from someone else is refused, and a number that does not match the one entered is marked as a mismatch.
Made for developers
One API call starts a check, a hosted page with a QR code handles the rest, and a signed webhook tells your server the result. The guide has the whole integration in several languages.
